I feel like the devs decided to hold the teutons back in many of those that should be their strong aspects, here are some examples: They get fully upgraded paladin except for Husbandry, which sets them just a tiny bit back comparing to other civs; They are the only civ who could actually use the Herbal Medicine tech in multiplayer thanks to Crenellations, but they have all of the monastery techs except for Herbal Medicine; Their siege only lacks Siege Ram, which, being faster than Capped Ram, could be extremely useful to bring Teutonic Knights through the map.
